You're Married!

Now what?

Once the excitement of the big day calms down, you'll probably start trying to remember all of the details; wondering how the pictures turned out and if you looked good in them. So what happens next?

My Routine

When I leave your wedding after taking hundreds of beautiful photos, the first thing I do is safely tuck my camera into my Pelican case in my car. The most important part of my job is ensuring you can trust me to protect all of the memories I just captured.

When I get home I immediately take my SD card out of my camera and upload your photos to my external hard drive and computer (the more backups the better!).

Sneak Peaks

Sneak peaks are your first glimpse into your wedding album. These serve as a quick reminder of all of the beautiful moments on your wedding day and give you the opportunity to share with these memories with the world. I spend the next 48 hours after your wedding choosing the perfect photos to send you for your sneak peak.

As your photographer, you have placed your trust in me to not only take good photos, but choose the BEST photos to edit and deliver to you. When I pick out sneak peak photos. I choose my favorites from each of the big moments on your wedding day. Sometimes this includes the smaller details like the centerpieces or your bouquet. Sometimes this is your Mom smiling as you walk down the aisle. I strive to choose the moments that fleeting and beautiful when I pick your sneak peak photos.

How Many Photos Will I Get?

I don't dictate the number of photos I provide - I let the photos do the talking. if I find 100 photos or 50 that I want to give in your sneak peaks, then I will.

What I can promise is beautiful photos from each of the big moments of your wedding day. I always try and pick at least one from your first look, getting ready, ceremony, recessional, individual shots, and reception. Everyone's wedding day is different and different moments may be more important to people than others so letting me know which moments are most important to you help me focus my efforts when editing.

The Final Gallery

I tell all of my clients that it takes me up to 3 months to finish editing their full wedding gallery.

Why so long? I take hundreds of photos on your wedding day. I want to make sure I don't miss even a single moment - especially the beautiful in-between, candid moments - those are my favorite. So when it comes to editing these photos, it takes a long time. I want to make sure I pick the perfect photos from the full set and take the time to edit them well.

Do you use presets? Yes and no. I use presets as a tool to lay the foundation for my editing. They help me set the right tone and brightness and pull out the right contrast. Then I go through and hand edit every individual photo until I am satisfied. This usually takes me upwards of 40 hours to edit galleries (and hopefully I'm sleeping and eating during parts of that time).

The End Result

A beautiful gallery that you can share with loved ones, print on holiday cards, and frame in your home. My goal is to provide you with a gallery that will last for the rest of your lives that you can share with your family - because at the end of the day, photos are meant to create lasting memories.
